Privacy Policy

This website (haidarrashid.com) is the personal site of Haidar Rashid, a cyber security consultant based in London, UK. It exists to share my writing and make it easy to get in touch.

For the purposes of UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), I am the data controller for any personal data handled through this site.

This site does not use analytics, tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or any form of behavioural tracking. There are no accounts and no newsletter lists.

I do not collect or store your personal data when you simply browse the site. Like almost every website, the hosting provider processes standard technical logs (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver pages securely and reliably. These are not used to identify or profile you.

Ask Haidar is an AI assistant that answers questions about my professional background and writing. Conversations are session-only: nothing you type is saved to a database, and the conversation disappears when you close or refresh the page.

Your messages are processed by an AI provider solely to generate a response. Please don't share sensitive personal information, passwords, or confidential business details with the assistant.

If you book a conversation, you'll use Calendly, a third-party scheduling service. The details you enter there (such as your name, email address, and anything you add to the booking notes) are handled by Calendly under its own privacy policy, and shared with me so I can host the call.

I use booking details only to arrange and hold the conversation. I don't add you to marketing lists or share your details with anyone else.

The 'Send me an email' button opens your own email app — nothing is sent through this website. If you choose to email me, I'll use your address and message only to reply to you.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data I hold about you, and to object to or restrict how it's used. Because this site stores almost nothing about visitors, in most cases the only data I'd hold is an email conversation you've chosen to start.

To exercise any of these rights, just email me using the contact button on the home page. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

If I change how this site handles data — for example, by adding analytics or a newsletter — I'll update this page first. This policy was last updated in September 2026.
